NordFX Overview
NordFX is a forex and CFD broker operating since 2008, regulated by the VFSC in Vanuatu. It runs on MetaTrader 4 and MetaTrader 5, with a low entry from $10 and leverage up to 1:1000. The broker offers four accounts built around two pricing models, Pro and Zero, on each platform. The sections below set out its accounts, regulation, costs, funding, and platforms so you can judge whether it fits the way you trade.
RebateGain does not currently offer cashback on NordFX. If you would like us to add it, let us know, and in the meantime you can earn a rebate on the brokers we already cover.
NordFX Account Types
NordFX offers four accounts, split by pricing model and platform. The Pro accounts carry a spread with no separate commission, while the Zero accounts use near-zero raw spreads with a commission per lot. Each model is available on MT4 and MT5, and all carry leverage up to 1:1000. The entry point is $10 on the MT4 Pro account.
| Account | Min. deposit | Platforms | Pricing model | Max leverage |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| MT4 Pro | $10 | MT4 | Spread, no commission | up to 1:1000 |
| MT5 Pro | $50 | MT5 | Spread, no commission | up to 1:1000 |
| MT4 Zero | $100 | MT4 | Zero spread + commission | up to 1:1000 |
| MT5 Zero | $200 | MT5 | Zero spread + commission | up to 1:1000 |
Pro Accounts (MT4 and MT5)
The Pro accounts build the trading cost into the spread, with no separate commission. They open from $10 on MT4 and $50 on MT5. For a trader who wants one simple cost figure rather than tracking spread and commission separately, the Pro accounts are the straightforward choice, and the $10 MT4 entry makes it easy to start small.
| Pros | Cons |
|---|---|
| Low $10 entry on the MT4 Pro account | Spreads are wider than the Zero accounts |
| No separate commission to track | Costs add up for high-frequency trading |
| Available on both MT4 and MT5 |
Advantages
- Low $10 entry on the MT4 Pro account
- No separate commission to track
- Available on both MT4 and MT5
Disadvantages
- Spreads are wider than the Zero accounts
- Costs add up for high-frequency trading
Zero Accounts (MT4 and MT5)
The Zero accounts narrow the spread toward zero and charge a commission per lot instead. They open from $100 on MT4 and $200 on MT5, and suit active traders who feel the cost on every trade. Confirm whether the commission is charged per side or per round turn before you trade, since that changes the headline number.
Advantages
- Near-zero raw spreads for active trading
- Available on both MT4 and MT5
- Usually cheaper than Pro once volume climbs
Disadvantages
- A commission applies on top of the spread
- Higher entry than the Pro accounts
Regulation & Safety
NordFX is regulated by the VFSC, the Vanuatu Financial Services Commission, under licence number 40043. The VFSC is not a top-tier authority on the level of the FCA or ASIC, so the main point in NordFX’s favour on safety is longevity: it has operated since 2008, which is a long run in this industry.
As with most international brokers, the protection that applies to you depends on the entity you register under. Open your client agreement, confirm the contracting entity and its licence, and as a sensible habit start with a small amount and run a test withdrawal early before committing more.
Spreads, Commissions & Fees
NordFX charges in one of two ways. The Pro accounts are spread-based, with the cost in the spread and no commission. The Zero accounts use near-zero raw spreads plus a commission per lot. Where a commission applies, check whether it is charged per side or per round turn, since that doubles the headline number.
NordFX spreads are not published in a single, easy-to-find live table, and any “from” figure is a best-case number seen in liquid hours rather than the average you should plan around. The reliable way to read your real cost on a pair is to watch it in the platform across a normal session, and to check the current schedule for any swap or withdrawal fees.
Advantages
- Choice of spread-based Pro or commission-based Zero pricing
- Low $10 entry on the MT4 Pro account
- Near-zero spreads available on the Zero accounts
Disadvantages
- Exact spread and commission figures are not published in one place
- Trading costs scored lower here than at the cheaper brokers
Deposits & Withdrawals
NordFX supports a range of funding methods, including cards, e-wallets, and cryptocurrency in many regions. The exact options open to you, along with any minimums and processing times, depend on your region, so confirm the current list and the expected withdrawal time inside your client portal before funding.
Two habits are worth keeping, and they matter more with a broker outside top-tier regulation: withdraw back to the same method you funded with, and run a small test withdrawal early to confirm the process and the real timeline before committing larger amounts.
Advantages
- Card, e-wallet and crypto funding in many regions
- Low $10 minimum makes starting small easy
Disadvantages
- Exact methods and limits depend on your region, so confirm them first
- Withdrawals scored lower here, so confirm timings and fees first
Leverage & Instruments
Leverage on NordFX reaches up to 1:1000. Because the broker is not bound by the leverage caps that top-tier regulators apply, the headline figure is high, and high leverage magnifies losses as much as gains. Size your positions to the risk rather than the cap. As usual, the top figure is for major forex pairs, with metals, indices, and crypto carrying lower limits.
On the instrument side, NordFX covers the main CFD asset classes across MT4 and MT5, and it has long offered cryptocurrency trading. The full, current list is available inside the terminal once you open an account; confirm any specific market you plan to trade before funding.
| Asset class | What you can trade |
|---|---|
| Forex | Major, minor and exotic currency pairs |
| Metals | Gold, silver and other metals |
| Energies | Crude oil and energy products |
| Indices | Major global stock indices |
| Cryptocurrencies | Popular crypto pairs |
Advantages
- Covers forex, metals, energies, indices and crypto
- Long-standing cryptocurrency offering
- High leverage available for traders who want it
Disadvantages
- Leverage up to 1:1000 magnifies losses as much as gains
- Instruments are CFDs, giving price exposure, not ownership
Trading Platforms
NordFX runs on MetaTrader 4 and MetaTrader 5, with a NordFX mobile app and a copy-trading service.
MetaTrader 4 and MetaTrader 5
These are the industry standard for retail forex and CFD trading. You can download MT4 or MT5 for desktop, web, or mobile, and any custom expert advisors, indicators, or chart setups carry across to the NordFX MT4 platform without rebuilding. MT5 adds more timeframes, a built-in economic calendar, and broader asset coverage.
NordFX app
NordFX offers its own mobile app for account management, monitoring, and order placement on the move. Confirm the current feature set in the app store listing, since mobile apps are updated often.
Copy trading
NordFX copy trading lets you follow the trades of others rather than place every trade yourself. Read the terms and the track record before committing, since past performance does not guarantee future results.
Demo accounts
Demo accounts are available so you can test a strategy or get used to a platform before funding a live account, which is a sensible first step with any broker.
