Orbex Overview
Orbex is a forex and CFD broker established in 2011. It operates through Orbex Global Limited, regulated by the FSC in Mauritius, and Orbex Limited, regulated by the FSA in Seychelles, and it runs a no-dealing-desk execution model on MetaTrader 4 and MetaTrader 5. The broker offers four account types, from a $50 starter account up to a high-balance tier, along with copy trading and PAMM. The sections below set out its accounts, regulation, costs, funding, and platforms so you can judge whether it fits the way you trade.
RebateGain does not currently offer cashback on Orbex. If you would like us to add it, let us know, and in the meantime you can earn a rebate on the brokers we already cover.
Orbex Account Types
Orbex offers four account types. They all run on MetaTrader and carry leverage up to 1:500; what changes is the minimum deposit and the trading conditions you get for it, which improve as you move up the tiers. Confirm the exact spread and any commission for each account in your client portal before funding.
| Account | Min. deposit | Platforms | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Starter | $50 | MT4 | A low-cost start |
| Turbo | $150 | MT4, MT5 | Tighter spreads for more active trading |
| Premium | $300 | MT5 | Better conditions for steadier volume |
| Ultimate | $25,000 | MT4, MT5 | High-balance traders wanting the best conditions |
Starter Account
The Starter account is the entry point, opening from $50 on MT4. It is the straightforward place to begin for a trader testing Orbex with real money or learning the platform, with leverage up to 1:500.
Advantages
- Low $50 minimum deposit
- Simple entry point on MT4
- Leverage up to 1:500
Disadvantages
- Spreads are wider than the higher tiers
- Costs add up for high-frequency trading
Turbo Account
The Turbo account raises the minimum to $150 in return for tighter spreads than the Starter account, and it runs on both MT4 and MT5. It suits traders putting through more regular volume who feel the spread on every position.
Advantages
- Tighter spreads than the Starter account
- Runs on both MT4 and MT5
- Leverage up to 1:500
Disadvantages
- $150 entry is higher than the Starter account
- Confirm the exact spread and any commission before funding
Premium Account
The Premium account opens from $300 on MT5 and offers better conditions again, aimed at traders with steadier volume who want tighter pricing than the Turbo account. Confirm whether any commission applies, and whether it is charged per side or per round turn.
Advantages
- Better conditions than the lower tiers
- Runs on MT5 with leverage up to 1:500
Disadvantages
- $300 entry
- MT5 only
Ultimate Account
The Ultimate account is the premium tier, from a $25,000 minimum, with Orbex’s best trading conditions for high-balance traders. It runs on MT4 and MT5. Unless you are funding at that level and trading enough size for the conditions to matter, the lower tiers cover the same platforms at a fraction of the entry.
Advantages
- Orbex's best trading conditions
- Built for high-balance, active traders
- MT4 and MT5 access
Disadvantages
- $25,000 entry rules it out for most traders
Regulation & Safety
Orbex is a multi-regulated broker. Orbex Global Limited is authorised and regulated by the Financial Services Commission (FSC) in Mauritius, and Orbex Limited is regulated by the Financial Services Authority (FSA) in Seychelles. The website orbex.com is operated by Orbex LLC, registered in St Vincent and the Grenadines. As with most international brokers, the licence that covers your account depends on the entity you register under, so confirm it in your client agreement.
Orbex applies several safeguards across its accounts: negative balance protection, so losses cannot exceed your deposit; segregation of client funds from company money; and a no-dealing-desk model on execution. It has operated since 2011, which is a useful track record to weigh alongside the regulatory picture.
FSC (Mauritius)
Orbex Global Limited holds an Investment Dealer licence with the Mauritius Financial Services Commission. The FSC licence allows the entity to operate internationally, subject to local rules in each client’s country, and sets the standards it must meet for capital and conduct.
FSA (Seychelles)
Orbex Limited holds a Securities Dealer licence with the Seychelles Financial Services Authority. The licence covers reception and transmission of orders, execution on behalf of clients, and dealing on own account, under the FSA’s oversight.
Spreads, Commissions & Fees
Orbex trading costs run through the spread, and conditions improve as you move up the account tiers, with lower spreads on the higher accounts. The broker runs a no-dealing-desk model, which passes your orders to liquidity providers rather than handling them on an internal dealing desk, which reduces the conflict of interest that comes with a desk taking the other side of your trade. Where a commission applies, check whether it is charged per side or per round turn before you trade.
Orbex spreads are not published in a single, easy-to-find live table, and any “from” figure is a best-case number seen in liquid hours rather than the average you should plan around. The reliable way to read your real cost on a pair is to watch it in the platform across a normal session. A swap-free (Islamic) option is available if you need it.
Advantages
- Conditions improve as you move up the tiers
- No-dealing-desk execution model
- Swap-free option available
Disadvantages
- Exact spread and commission figures are not published in one place
- Conditions vary by account, so confirm before funding
Deposits & Withdrawals
Orbex funds through an Orbex Wallet, with deposits by debit card, wire transfer, and other online payment methods. The exact options open to you, along with any minimums and processing times, depend on your region, so confirm the current list inside your client portal before funding.
Two habits are worth keeping with any broker: withdraw back to the same method you funded with, since compliance teams usually require it, and run a small test withdrawal early to confirm the process and the real timeline before larger amounts are involved.
Advantages
- Card, wire transfer and online payment options via the Orbex Wallet
- Client funds are held separately from company money
Disadvantages
- Exact methods and any crypto support depend on your region
- Confirm minimums and timings in the portal before funding
Leverage & Instruments
Leverage on Orbex accounts reaches up to 1:500. As with most brokers, the top figure is for major forex pairs, while metals, indices, and crypto carry lower limits. High leverage magnifies losses as much as gains, so size your positions to the risk rather than the cap.
On the instrument side, Orbex forex sits at the core of a broad range of CFD markets across MT4 and MT5. The full, current list is available inside the terminal once you open an account; confirm any specific market you plan to trade before funding.
| Asset class | What you can trade |
|---|---|
| Forex | Major, minor and exotic currency pairs |
| Commodities | Gold, silver, oil and energy products |
| Indices | Major global stock indices |
| Stocks | Share CFDs on listed companies |
| Cryptocurrencies | Popular crypto pairs |
| Futures | Selected futures CFDs |
Advantages
- Broad range across forex, commodities, indices, stocks, crypto and futures
- Leverage up to 1:500 for traders who want it
- One account can span several asset classes
Disadvantages
- Leverage up to 1:500 magnifies losses as much as gains
- Instruments are CFDs, giving price exposure, not ownership
Trading Platforms
Orbex runs on MetaTrader 4 and MetaTrader 5, with an Orbex mobile app, and it adds copy trading and PAMM for hands-off investing.
MetaTrader 4 and MetaTrader 5
These are the industry standard for retail forex and CFD trading. If you already run custom expert advisors, indicators, or a chart setup in MT4, it carries across to Orbex without rebuilding. MT5 adds more timeframes, a built-in economic calendar, and broader asset coverage. A web terminal and a FIX API are available too.
Orbex mobile app
The Orbex mobile app handles account management, monitoring, and order placement away from the desk. For opening significant size or managing complex orders, the desktop terminal gives you more control.
Copy trading and PAMM
Orbex offers copy trading and a PAMM service, so you can follow experienced traders or have a manager trade a pooled account on your behalf. Read the terms before committing, since past performance does not guarantee future results.
Tools and demo
Orbex provides extras such as a free VPS and Trading Central research, and demo accounts are available so you can test a strategy before funding a live account.
